OUR PASTORAL TEAM AT TCP
The school’s pastoral provision is led by the Pastoral Lead, who is supported by Mrs Higson, the school’s Deputy Headteacher and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).
In line with statutory requirements and the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, safeguarding is given the highest priority and is effective and embedded across the school. The pastoral team works in close partnership with Operation Encompass and Lancashire Police to support pupils’ safety and wellbeing. This ensures timely information sharing where a child may have been exposed to domestic abuse requiring police involvement, enabling the school to take appropriate and proportionate safeguarding action.
The pastoral team engages in effective multi-agency working to identify need early and provide targeted support for pupils and their families. This includes close collaboration with Children and Family Wellbeing Services, Twinkle House, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), the School Nurse, and other relevant statutory and voluntary agencies.
The school has a strong safeguarding culture, with clear procedures in place for identifying concerns, managing referrals, and supporting vulnerable pupils. All safeguarding arrangements, including policies and procedures for working with children, are compliant with current statutory guidance and are available on the school’s Policies page.
