Music at TCP
We are proud to offer a wide range of music tuition, including drums, piano, brass and guitars as well as the opportunity to take part in Let's Go Sing. Year 4 children are able to tkae part in our Wider Opportunities programme where they are all taught how to play a brass instrument. Children are encouraged to share their progress and talents; whether as part of their class music lessons, during assembly or as part of our summer celebration of music concert.
Musician Of The Month
Each half term, our children find out about a significant musician. We learn one of their songs in singing practice, led by Mrs. Forder. Many of our musicians have faced adversity in their lives which ties in with our British Values curriculum and No Outsiders.
So far we have learned 'Heroes' by David Bowie, 'River' by Joni Mitchell and 'Say A Little Prayer' by Aretha Franklyn. We've even learned some sea shaties!
This half term, our Musician Of The Month is Nina Simone .
TaRDIS Performing Arts Festival, April 2026
As part of our TaRDIS cluster, Let's Go Sing performed at the Performing Arts Festival in Banks where they gave a uplifting performance of 'Greatest Day' by Take That.
Let's Go Sing Concert, March 2026
After months of practice, it was finally the big day of the Let's Go Sing Concert at Blackburn Ice Rink.
The children had the opportunity to sing with over 20 other school and performed brilliantly. Our particular favourites were Aunty Brender and The Scuttled Sloop!
We can't wait to get going on our next project in September.
Summer Concert July 2025
In July, our wonderful musicians had the opportunity to show off thier talents at our annual TCP Summer Concert. Friends and family were treated to amazing performances on drums, guitar and brass as well as performances from our Let's Go Sing group.
