Piccolos 2025-26

Hello everyone and welcome to Piccolos Class! We are a class of 30 keen, bright learners supported by Mrs Parkinson (Mon-Thurs), Mrs Higson (Fri), Mrs Brown, Mrs Nelson, Mrs Cookson, Mrs Moores and Mrs Potter.

During our first half term, we will be undertaking Forest Schools sessions on a Tuesday afternoon. Due to the timetabling of this, there will be no additional PE lessons until next half term.

For homework, children are expected to practice their spellings and times tables (using TTRockstars) three times per week and be heard read the same number of times. Reading needs to be evidenced in their Reading Record books via a parent/carer date and signature. Children who have read three times a week, at home, will be rewarded with a gold coin. Spellings will be set on a Monday for testing the following Monday. Please ensure your child has their spelling book in school each Monday. In Year 3, children are encouraged to change their own banded reading books, if needed, when they come into school each morning – they should bring their reading folders each day. Library books can be changed, if required, on Mondays.

We use MCAS for all communication, so please ensure you have an active MCAS account. You can report an absence via MCAS and message directly to the office - they will pass any messages on to class teachers.
