Piccolos 2025-26

Hello and welcome to year 3 - Piccolos Class! We are a group of 29 keen, bright learners supported by Mrs Parkinson (Mon-Thurs), Mrs Higson (Fri), and Mrs Brown.

We will have Forest Schools sessions on Tuesdays for the first Autumn half term. Following this, we will have PE sessions on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from the second half of the Autumn term - so children should come to school wearing their PE kits on these days, for the remainder of the school year. 

For homework, children are expected to practice their spellings and times tables (using TTRockstars) three times per week and be heard read the same number of times. Reading needs to be evidenced in their Reading Record books via a parent/carer date and signature. Children who have read three times a week, at home, will be rewarded with a gold coin. Spellings will be set on a Monday for testing the following Monday. Please ensure your child has their spelling book in school each Monday. In Year 3, children are encouraged to change their own banded reading books, if needed, when they come into school each morning – they should bring their reading folders each day. Library books can be changed, if required, on Mondays.

We use MCAS for all communication, so please ensure you have an active MCAS account. You can report an absence via MCAS and message directly to the office - they will pass any messages on to class teachers.
